STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE (short version):

Structure of the course in the 4 year training programme: 1,600 hours for the Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy –

BASIC COURSE CERTIFICATE:

I Year and II Year – consist of the following activities:

220 hours weekly/monthly group sessions in theory, methodology and experience with Lidija Pecotić Ph.D. and Joyce Sciberras M.A.;

30 hours of individual psychotherapy sessions with any accredited Gestalt therapist (list available on gptim.com (Resources));

128 hours of Gestalt Workshops (theory, methodology and experience) – workshops facilitated by Bertram Műller, Clinical Psychologist, Dr Kenneth R. Evans; Joanna Evans M.A., M.A.; Dott. Gianni Francesetti, Psychiatrist; Dott.ssa Margherita Spagnuolo Lobb;

96 hours of Workshops (theory, methodology and experience) in Different Psychotherapy Approaches – workshops facilitated by Lidija Pecotić Ph.D., Velimir Popović Ph.D. and Prof. Dr Dusan Stojnov, and

2 written assignments on a theme in the theory and/or methodology in Gestalt Psychotherapy.

On completion of the above mentioned students attain the Certificate for the Basic Course.

 

ADVANCED COURSE CERTIFICATE:

III Year and IV Year – consist of the following activities:

232 hours weekly/monthly group sessions in theory, methodology and experience with Lidija Pecotić Ph.D. and Joyce Sciberras M.A.;

45 hours of individual psychotherapy sessions with any accredited Gestalt therapist (list available on gptim.com (Resources));

128 hours of Gestalt Workshops (theory, methodology and experience) – workshops facilitated by Bertram Műller, Clinical Psychologist; Dr Kenneth R. Evans; Joanna Evans M.A., M.A.; Dott. Gianni Francesetti, Psychiatrist; Dott.ssa Margherita Spagnuolo Lobb;

96 hours of Workshops (theory, methodology and experience) in Different Psychotherapy Approaches – workshops facilitated by Lidija Pecotić Ph.D., Velimir Popović Ph.D. and Prof. Dr Dusan Stojnov;

8 written assignments on a theme in the theory and/or methodolgy in Gestalt Psychotherapy.

On completion of the above mentioned students attain a Certificate for the Advanced Course.

 

DIPLOMA IN GESTALT PSYCHOTHERAPY:

For attainment of the Gestalt Psychotherapy Diploma the following are requisites (including the above):

400 hours of Clinical Practice with clients in different agencies* with which the EAPTI-GPTIM has a contract established;

225 hours of Supervision with accredited Supervisors – covering 195 hours with Lidija Pecotić Ph.D., Dr Kenneth R. Evans and Dott.ssa Joan Camilleri and 30 hours with an accredited Supervisor of EAPTI-GPTIM (list of accredited Supervisors available on www.gptim.com (Resources));

Case Study of 10,000 – 11,000 words (case studies below the word count indicated or exceeding the word count indicated will not be accepted) and

Examination and Presentation

On completion of all of the above mentioned students attain the Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy*.

*Application form for the final examination in the Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy:

GPTIM will hold an examination for the Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th November, 2013.

 

In order to qualify for the examination, candidates need to have:

►   University Degree in related fields (psychotherapy, social work, medicine etc…)

►   Personal individual psychotherapy – 75hrs

►   Gestalt Theory, methodology and experience – 707hrs

►   Different psychotherapy approaches: theory, methodology and experience – 192hrs

►   Clinical practice with actual clients – 400hrs

►   Supervision of practice – 225hrs

►   8 written assignments in the field of Gestalt Psychotherapy: (word count for every assignment: 2,000 words)

►   Written dissertation/case study: (10,000 – 11,000 words)

 

The Examination board will be made up of two GPTIM examiners and external observers.

 

The application form (printed and signed) and case study (printed and spiral bound) should be handed in at GPTIM by the 25th September, 2012. The application form and case study must be accompanied by an electronic version (ON A COMPACT DISC) of the case study as well as the student file (confirming that the necessary hours have been completed) and assignments, which will only  be required in electronic version (ON A COMPACT DISK). The examination fee of 450e is to be paid on the same date.

 

The examination will take place at the Corinthia Hotel, Attard, starting on November 16th, 2012, at 17.00hrs.
